When the World Sleeps

When the world sleeps, I sit awake.

My nights are better than day.

People hibernate, my thoughts stay.

Protecting me from harm’s way.

On standby, waiting for me to say

I’m okay.

The only message I care to relay.

To a creation I can never repay.

To one that hurts as much as it loves to play.

To a place in which my worries lay.

In which my feelings sway.

Where sunshine places a gentle ray.

Where people fly and dragons slay.

I find peace from the world in my mind.

In all of its sadness and desperation

It harbors hope and happiness.

Where countless worlds meet one another

And become friends.
